Audiologists are affiliated with the Department of Otolaryngology through the clinical facility at the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation. They work closely with the otolaryngologists to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for patients with hearing disorders. Services Provided Include · Comprehensive Hearing Evaluation for all Ages · Hearing Instrument Selection, Evaluation, and Dispensing · Electrophysiologic Evaluation including Otoacoustic Emissions, Electrocochleography and Auditory Brainstem Response Testing · Cochlear Implant Evaluation and Programming · Custom Earplug Dispensing for Water Precautions, Hearing Protection, and Personal Listening Devices (IPods, cell phones, etc.) · Assistive Listening Device Consultation All audiologists have the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and are members of the American Academy of Audiology. In addition, they routinely serve as preceptors to Doctor of Audiology students in the Northwestern University Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.
